The International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) is a global competition for high school students to demonstrate their physics expertise. Held annually,
the event sees participation from over 80 countries, and in 2025, it will be hosted in Paris, France.
The competition not only challenges students in theoretical and experimental physics but also provides an opportunity for cultural exchange through social activities and trips.
The IPhO aims to test students' knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in physics. It started in 1967 in Warsaw, Poland, and has since become a prestigious event held in different countries each year. Teams consist of up to five students and two leaders, and the competition lasts for 8 to 9 days. The 2025 Olympiad will take place from July 17 to July 25. The exam consists of two parts: a 5-hour theoretical exam with 3 problems and a 5-hour experimental exam with 1-2 problems. The official websites for more details are ipho-new.org and ipho2025.fr.
