ABOUT - NMTC Stage 2
The National Mathematics Talent Contest (NMTC) Stage 2, organized by the Association of Mathematics Teachers of India (AMTI), is the final and most challenging stage of one of India’s premier mathematics competitions. This round is entirely subjective and designed to identify and recognize mathematical talent, with an emphasis on advanced problem-solving and proof-based reasoning.
AIM OF THE TEST - NMTC Stage 2
The aim of NMTC Stage 2 is to develop high-level mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills through non-routine, Olympiad-level questions that require detailed proofs and logical arguments. The exam encourages participants to go beyond computation, focusing on clear reasoning and step- by-step solutions. It prepares students for advanced Olympiads, bridging the gap between regular school mathematics and international competition standards.
ADVANTAGES FOR STUDENTS
National Visibility:: Students gain exposure by competing at the all-India level and winners receive prizes and the merit certificates during AMTI ANNUAL CONFERENCE in December.
Challenging Mathematics:: NMTC final stage features advanced, non-routine, and proof-based questions that develop deep mathematical thinking well beyond school curriculum.
Preparation for Olympiads:: The contest serves as comprehensive preparation for higher Olympiads like RMO and INMO, sharpening skills needed for further competitive selections.
Problem-Solving Skills:: Regular participation enhances creative reasoning, logical analysis, and confidence to tackle unfamiliar mathematical challenges.
Opportunities:: High scorers receive invitations to exclusive mathematical training and exposure camps sponsored by AMTI.
